Trying to find keto options while eating out can be a challenge and we have think you’ll enjoy reading about these 3 Indian dishes you may not know are keto friendly. Fortunately, not only is Indian food delicious and beautiful, but it’s also diverse. You can find something in Indian cuisine for nearly any dietary requirement. The spices and flavors ensure your food is still flavorful, so no bland keto meals!

At first look, many people might assume because of the oils and carbs that Indian food would not be a first pick for keto. You might be surprised! Any item can be substituted or adapted for different diets. The trick is to find a restaurant attuned to these needs and willing to make the necessary adjustments in the kitchen. At Mayur we enjoy accommodating our guests needs and providing healthy alternatives.

Most of our curry dishes at Mayur Restaurant can be prepared for a keto diet. We have many different dishes that feature chicken, fish, lamb, and shrimp. Meat is keto friendly! Paneer Tikka Masala, a handcrafted cheese dish, comes in a tomatoe base. Below are just three options if you’re looking for a keto alternative and visiting us for dinner. Any of these can be paired with a vegetable curry dish or appetizer.

Butter Chicken

Butter chicken is one of the most popular Indian food dishes around the world. This creamy dish encases chicken cooked in a delicate, colorful marinade.

Seekh Kabab and other meat dishes

This exotic dish features spices, ginger, garlic, onions, and ground lamb. It’s an excellent choice for anyone eating a keto diet. This dish can be paired with steamed vegetables or any of our curry dishes. You can find a host of different combinations in Indian cuisine. Our Chilean sea bass is cooked in a clay oven at 800 degrees and our lamb chops are cooked in our tandoor. Both of these are served with yogurt and cucumber.

Sweet Potatoe Chaat

We love this vegetable dish. This colorful appetizer features a medley of vegetables with sweet potatoe, onion, mint and chutney. This appetizer, along with the shrimp and cucumber appetizer, pair well with one of our meat curry dishes.

The benefit of Indian cuisine is that most of the dishes come with vegetables as well. They can be customized and come with savory spices that enhance the dining experience. You can bring a partner who might not be on a keto diet and still both enjoy a tasteful meal together. While Indian food can be overlooked as a great keto option because of naan bread and herbed rice, many more of our dishes are keto friendly. This lists just three options on our menu available for keto diets. Indian food also accommodates vegetarian and vegan diets.
